I attended Backlash at the request of my brother and nephew. At the time, Shane wasn't on tv and I had no real reason for attending the ppv. However, a few weeks after securing the tickets, Shane was back on tv and set for a match at Backlash. The ppv was incredible but it's what happened after the show that made my life wonderful! After waiting and watching multiple superstars leave and after scowering a few local hotels, I was tipped that Shane was indeed at the Radisson and had been signing autographs. Security had cleared everyone out and promised that no one would be allowed back in unless they were staying at the hotel and Shane had already gone back upstairs. Crushed, I tried to make arrangements to stay at the hotel but was bone dry on money! Deciding to at least check the hotel out, me and my friends walked a street over to the Radisson and there in the window, leaned over the bar was Shane O Mac himself! My heart was pounding and I about passed out! It took me a bit to go in but a fellow fan staying there encouraged me. He said Shane had been signing autographs and would gladly do the same for me. As I reached the bar, I was approached by a security guard and my id was requested. I presented it and asked if I could just get Shane's autograph. He said he would check and I turned to talk to my friend, too afraid to see what Shane's reaction would be. Moments later, my friend yelled for me to turn around. Shane had agreed to sign some autographs and was right behind me! He reached out a hand, shook my hand, and I asked for his autograph. He said he would gladly sign for me. I told him I was a huge fan and had only come to see him. To this he pointed at my jersey, winked, and said "I can see." My sister asked how his wife was doing and the kids, he said they were all fine. He even said that Stephanie was doing well with her pregnancy. Then everyone wanted pictures and I was afraid we'd get booted but Shane said he'd love to! He put his arm around me and we snatched a picture together. Sadly for my sister, my digital camera's batteries died and I snapped a very shakey photo of her and Shane on her cell phone. He shook my hand again and winked at me! I told him over and over he had fans that loved him and we wished him the best. He said he really appreciated that and even called me and my sister by our names! I left that night, called a billion people, and screamed with excitement all the way home! He was so soft spoken, not at all like he is on tv. In fact, my friend told him he looked like his mother. He got a cute little smile and said "Really?" She even told him he was nothing like he was on tv! Some girl even said he looked different but in a good way. He was very amused by that and just grinned. He asked how I spelled my name and even signed an autograph for Debs! I have to say guys, he's way hotter in person and so sweet! I couldn't get over how smooth he acted and how quiet and almost shy he came off. But I have to say, that was the best night of my life!
